here are two from my handy dandy vinega book:
1/4 cornstarch 1/4 vnegar. mix well. dab onto windows, let dry & rub off.

1/2 tsp liquid soap, 1/4 c vingar & 2 c water. soak a sponge or small cloth in the mixture wring out and go to town. you can then store that small cloth or sponge i a glass jar with a tight fitting lid and use to wipe away little spots and smudges.

It depends on how dirty the windows are. The vinegar is what cuts the dirt.

If it is reagular cleaning use 1/4 vinegar to 3/4 water. If it is cigarette or cigar smoke use a half and half mixture.

If you run out of cleaning solution; use air freshener, it cleans great and smells good for days. Using newspaper for wiping is a wonderful idea, it brings it to a good shine too!

Just be careful that little angel doesn't get it in the eyes no matter what you use. All of these remedys will sting a lot!!!

I find the best way for cleaning widows is the old fashioned way using news paper, Just take a couple of sheets of news paper crumple them up , then with a touch of vinegar and water just wipe the windows , they come up really nice and no streaks. just remember to use gloves ,and when the news paper starts to fall apart just do the same as before , cheaper and makes a really good job of them, PS sorry I should have said add a touch of vinegar to the water

Be careful letting a 5 yo use this stuff! Some of the people suggestions may be too strong unless it is well ventilated. Plus, a 5yo may leave streaks. (When my kids were that age, I would redo some of the jobs after they went to bed, so it was done well, but didnt hurt their feelings.)

I just watched a program on TV in which a professional window cleaner suggested using dish detergent & warm water to clean windows to prevent streaking. He said it works much better than vinegar and requires no rinsing.
