We normally have two get to gethers for the kids. A family birthday at home after diner with cake and a couple gifts. (That's always funner) Then we let the birthday person choose another activity with a few close friends. It is, like mentioned by some, more personal and memorable plus it build long lasting community building friendships. This I believe is important all through growing up and could pay dividends later with future plans in the adult world. After all a lot of success has come from WHO you know and have created deep friendships with. Plus it builds upon a great American society that benefits us all. So you may be able to combine the best of both during your FUNNER day at the water park.
have responsible fun. Good luck.

Knott's Soak City or Cedar Point's Soak City?
Either way I would go to the amusement park (not the waterpark), like Cedar Point or Knott's Berry Farm instead of Soak City.

I would go to Soak City. It's fun to have a big party at home, but the problem is that you have to worry about entertaining everyone and providing things for people to do. At Soak City the entertainment is provided for you.
You can always go home after and have cake and stuff if you want (that's what I did when I went to Six Flags for my 13th b-day).

I don't know if there's more than one Soak City or not? The only one I know of is by Knotts Berry Farm in California. My kids didn't like it. If you live in Southern California go to Wild Rivers or Raging Waters. If you don't live in So Cal or don't have access to a different water park, have a hawaiian luau party at home.

Well, I honestly have no idea what Soak City is, but it is fun to have a party at home. Of course, this depends on whether or not you have a nice home.
Also, don't forget a theme. If you decide to have a party at home, you MUST try Party City for the supplies, they probably have the lowest prices anywhere.
Good luck and happy birthday!

If I were you, I'd plan only in July, coz my friends may not be free during my birthday and the idea of 'soaking' may turn out to be 'shocking' !!
Ask for this question in July again and you'll get better ideas

I would rather go to a water park with just a few of my good friends. It would be more personal and more memorable. Kind of like you're giving a present to them too.
p.s. its "more fun" not "funner"
