IF, as some neocons say, things have been so bad at the VA hospitals for years, how come BUSH didn't fix it?

BUSH and his posse have been in charge of EVERYTHING for the past 6 years. How come he didn't fix the VA healthcare system? Especially since we have a war going on?

I guess to answer my own question the true fact is, They JUST DON"T CARE. talk about the hypocracy of the statement they are always making that "They support the troops".

The truth is BUSH and the republicans have done NOTHING to "fix" the VA healthcare. Doesn't matter WHO's fault it is, they claim to support the troops BUT they did NOTHING to help them.

During the 90's, the VA budget went from 37 billion in 1993 to 47 billion in 2001. Thats about a 3,3% increase each year.

Since Bush was elected:

The VA budget has went from 47 billion in 2001 to 80 billion in 2007. Thats a 14% increase every year.

So i'd say the facts show that Bush has done more to help the VA, than any previous President.

But hey, don't let things like facts get in the way of your ranting.


By the way, Walter Reed is not a VA Hospital, and has nothing to do with the Veterans Administration.

While I am certainly not defending ANYTHING Bush has done - to be fair I have to point out that the problem with the VA medical system has been going on for decades. You can sum it up in 2 words - Government Bureaucracy. According to the hearings yesterday - the government requires 22 different forms to document the loss of a limb. For God's sake! This defies explanation and appears to be the tip of the iceberg..

Exellant question. Because he like the others turned their eyes from it and nothing else you can say. Hell yea he knew and sooo many others knew. It's not just the medical treatment, but it's the same thing the people on the coast trying to get their part of the 10 billion dollars promised. So much red tape it's untouchable.
