Vasectomies aren't 100% all the time. If your test was positive, more then likely, you are pregnant. Call your doctor and tell them the situation. They will probably want to do a blood test, just to be sure. They can also test your husband to see if his vasectomy is effective or not. Even one sperm that "escapes" can make a baby. It might be worth getting him tested, just to be sure. If his vasectomy has failed, he would want to know that too. Good luck, which ever way it goes!!

Sometimes vasectomies don't take
Sometimes pregnancy tests show false positives
Menopause might cause the reading.
I think you need to consider if you are having other symptoms of pregnancy? Nausea, Heightened sense of smell, breast tenderness, among many others....
If you're not prepared to go to the doctor for whatever reason, give it 10 days. If you still haven't got your period, you are probably pregnant. Be healthy for the next couple of weeks and see a doctor when the ten days has expired.
Good Luck

Sometimes a vesectomy does not work. A friend of mine got pregnant when her husband had the same procedure done. Her doctor called it a "medical fluke". The risk of getting pregnant with a vestomy is very very low but it does happen. But, go to your obgyn to confirm your pregnancy.

It is sometimes possible to become pregnant with a vesectomy. You don't usually get a false positive on a pregnancy test only a false negative so congratulations!!!

That is the reason why they say 99% effective.. especially after a great period of time.. just like all things in the body, it tries to heal it's self and appearantly did a good job... I can empathize with your shock, my husband and I are expecting in 3 weeks, and we were not suppose to be able to conceive because he had alot of chemo.. the suprise is hard to get over, and the feelings of excitement dont always come the way they would if it was planned.. know that god wouldnt give you more then you can handle and obviously it was ment to be.. good luck, and congradulations I think!

Sometimes vasectomies just... don't work all the way. The only suggestion I could give is for BOTH of you to see a doctor. Good luck.

Well looks like you either slept with someone else, or you got the 1% that the vasectomy didn't effect. They are only like 99% effective. Congrats!

If you have been faithful your partner needs to go to the doctor and make sure his didn't "fuse back together". This can happen in very rare cases but it can happen.
