No. But it is acidic, and over time the tin will likely rust. My Dad has some in his basement. Been there 40+ years and still works fine. (Probably not as well as new, but the price is right!)

It depends on the type of paste. If it is a rosin based then it will be fine. If it's acid based then I'd put it in something plastic. You can normally tell by what it's used for. If it's electronics (doubtful you'd use paste for that) then it's rosin based. If it's for plumbing or non electronics it's probably acid based. It's not dangerous either way but I wouldn't keep it anywhere other than in a tool box or in a work bench. The acid will irritate the skid.

probly dangerous to keep around children ,i wouldnt like to see what it could do if it is swallowed cuz it burns pretty good in an open wound
