Since BUSH and his posse have been in charge of everything in government for the past 6 years how come they didn't "FIX" the VA system and the health care for the VETS if it was the liberals that are the cause of the current conditions? YOU CAN'T BLAME THE LIBERALS for the mess when they have not even been in charge of anything the past 6 years.

You know what, on the DAY JESUS CHRIST comes to earth (if he does) it will be CLINTONS fault. There will never be a day that EVERYTHING bad is not clintons fault. Can't you neocons come up with something better than that?

Why don't you ask why Clinton Vetoed it? Had he signed it, the issue wouldn't even be on Bush's plate.

I just answered a question like this Poitical. The V A hospitals and treatment for VA's has been slacking as far back as I can remember. What's a real shame is the 30 years I've known of and how many president is that? The only ones I've heard defend them are the ones that work there. My brother in law served 2 years in Vietnam and he would rather pay the deductable on his insurance rather than go to the VA. My daughter's father in law -same thing, and these 2 are penny pincheing people you'll ever meet. My room-mate used them once for a colon operation and they sent the man home with no-one to take care of him. Had I not come back into town from working on the road god only knows what would have happend to him. Our military has been suffering since Carter and he should be ashamed because he was a Navy officer.

I agree with one who said Walter Reed is an Army hospital, not a VA hospital. The problems have been around for a long time. I disagree with those veterans who do not use VA facilities. They should use them and change them. How can Bush be blamed? It is a bureaucracy problem. Pure politics. Dems didn't do anything either. I saw no legislation in defense of the American veterans.

You're right, the liberals were not in power for the past six years, but they did have a president in office for 8 years before that, and he did nothing for these old buildings that the military is using either. Bottom line: Politicians only do enough for votes. It's been some time since we've had any politician who has been pro-active for any real problem in this country.

Walter Reed andother VA hospitals have been like that through many administrations (Democrats too) and they have been like that (been there). You can't fix it if the Generals in charge do say anything about it. You want to fix it? Stop foreign aide at $480 Billion a year. It's ok, we understand your hate, but just wait ahile and another Bandwagon will be along any minute for you people that don't think for themselves!

I just read the Newsweek article about treatment of iraqi vets when they get home and its absolutely disgusting that we could treat people the way we do. People pleading to get medical help because they feel suicidal but told to go home because there isn't enough room. Sometimes resulting in suicide. Its painful to know that my country that I want to be proud of can do this.

I hate to break this to you because you seem to be such a political pundit and all but THE VA DOESN'T RUN WALTER REED HOSPITAL. Walter Reed is an ARMY hospital, not a VA hospital.

Clinton vetoed funding for the VA during his administration.

Bush can not be in charge of every of the THOUSANDS of departments in the government.
