the problems with today's movies is lack of vision. Everything is shot on either a blue screen, with fx put in later (and it usually shows unfortunately) or on a set with one chair, a white wall and lame dialog. In the past, there were sets that knocked your eyes out, costumes, the music swelled at the best parts. It was all full and grant. Now a lot of it looks like a grade school play.
And we are jaded now too. We have seen the millenium falcon fly over our heads in a darkened theater. We have seen superman fly and the shark rip apart the little boat. In trying to make it bigger and better, it has somehow gotten twisted around so it has become flat and lifeless. Most things go in a circle of sorts, repeating what has come before. Maybe someday movies will come around again to something that knocks our socks off when we sit in the dark, watching.

because nobody is willing to make an original idea and script anymore....most films now are remakes of older ones...oh, and by the was Jaws, Indiana Jones, and Star Wars all appeal to 10 year olds...

i admire previous music, and that i'm a young person. New music sucks because of the fact of electronics. They use computers, and stupid instruments to make their music and that they often do no longer even write their very own lyrics. 60's 70's and eighty's have been the an prolonged time with the countless superb music, and that i admire purple Floyd, AC/DC, Aerosmith and all of them. i do no longer possibly like various new style of difficulty. I agree i'm 14 and that i admire previous music, video clips, television exhibits and video games.

Hollywood thinks that movies with sex and expensive special effects will sell. The only good movies I saw this year had to have been Pursuit of Happiness, Bridge to Tarabitha and a foreign film called Pans Labyrinth.

I undertand what you mean. I think it's because many of the movies are made more for the money than for entertainment. Also, many movies rely on special effects instead of plot. I miss them, too, but times have to change. And we can save the classics for years to come. I hardly watch any new movies now, I don't think they are worth it.

They don't...you're just seeing the wrong movies. There's lots of good stuff out there that doesn't get hyped the way crap like "Epic Movie" and "Hannibal Rising" does. You need to start taking a chance on some of the smaller, lesser known movies out there. There are lots of treasures waiting to be found!

Because movie makers/Hollywood are just lazy and greedy.
They don't shoot for quality or originality as much as just how much the film will gross in the box office.
Sad times, my friend.

maybe it is the observer.
holding things up to an unacheivable goal.
those good moovies were seen at a different time in your life, and maybe you were simpler then...
the less you expect the more you'll be pleased.
