I would go. She sounds very immature. She's probably just jealous. If she didn't want you to go, she should not have bragged about how she was going. Next time, she should keep her mouth shut if she doesn't want someone else to go.

Ok, you're not invading...you have every right to be interested in the same thing...it's not as if you're taking something from her. However, just know that John Robert Powers is one of those places that have been around for years, calling themselves an acting school. They will take your money and give you classes...they WILL NOT make you into a actor. It's a scam, don't bother....and warn your friend. Maybe then you can work together to find a real school/class to take together that is more legit.

For one, nobody has a monopoly on such a public establishment as John Robert Powers so your so-called friend cannot bar you from going. Secondly, there are so many fields of study being offered, from modeling, music, dancing, acting, etc. that your interests may not even be the same as hers. Besides, you may not even like it once you've seen it and lastly, she may not have the same exact schedule as yours.
I say, go for it! You're not "invading" anyone or anything at all.
I must warn you, though, that JRP is very commercial. We paid for a lifelong membership or whatever their top level is and only used it three times.

First of all... John Robert Powers is a SCAM! Do your research. They are going to tell you that you need to PAY for a portfolio and classes... If they were really truly interested in you, they wouldnt make you pay for ANYTHING. They make money by scamming people. Its a huge joke in the industry. Only way to become an actor/actress is to take acting lessons, go to hollywood or New York and get an agent. Good luck to you

Since youre not really sure about this friendship, then you just have to do what is right for you. Besides if she didnt want you to try then she shouldnt have told you about it to begin with. Theres no guarantee that you will make it anyway but you have to try or live with the regret you didnt and you let someone else control your life. Sometimes you just have to follow your dreams wherever they lead you as its your life. Even if you make it she will be alright. She cant blame you if you try out and make it. If you do make it then thank her for being such a good friend letting you know about this. There is going to be many scenarios like this throughout your life to come so be prepared to just do whats right for you in accomplishing your dreams as its your life and let no one else control your actions. You got a chance so go for it! Good luck

I think you should totally go to the auditions and if you make it and shes jealous then she isnt a real friend. Real friends would be happy for you and celebrate with you. Just do what you love, which is acting, and explain to her how much you love it and hopefully she will understand.

You should go to the audition, your friend should be happy that you two have something you can share in common and talk about. If it is your passion then you should never ever give it up for anyone (friend or not)!!

I wouldn't go to THIS audition, but I'd find others. I've heard about this program and it sure sounds like a scam to nickel and dime you to death before you get any actual experience.
