WHY DO THEY EVEN HAVE A WINNER IF EVERYBODY BECOMES FAMOUS AND GETS A RECORD DEAL?

To take credit later for the winners success.

Then again they love to point out that they don't pick the winner so they don't get blamed if someone else voted off is even more successful.

every body doesn't get famous and get a record deal. Usually the last 12 get all the glory

becuse it's still fun to watch...and if it didn't exist no one would get a record deal
