The Secret is the law of attraction. It is one of seven universal laws that govern all things but there are several spins on the seven. The law of attraction states that whatever you focus your thoughts, feelings, and overall energy on you will bring to you. If you focus on negative thoughts you will attract negative outcomes. If you focus on positive thoughts you will attract positive outcomes.

The practice of The Secret is to condition your thoughts and actions into a positive force where your life is abundant. People who follow the law of attraction are always upbeat and positive and rarely have a troubled life. According to the law you can have what ever you desire.

The DVD of The Secret is like one of those paid program adds you might see on TV. It's okay, in my opinion, but then I'm familiar with the law and it has worked for me. Other people watch the DVD continuously.

The best book on the subject and which the DVD is loosely based is by Abraham--Hicks and would provide you with more information than the DVD. If you are interested in one spin of the universal laws you might like to try The Laws of Spirit by Dan Millman.

Its another self-help book saying the same thing that's been said for years or even centuries. The "Secret" recipe for success is, Ask-Believe-Receive. If you constantly focus your mind on what you want in life then you will get it. If you focus on what you don't want, then you will get that. If your going to read self-help books that's great but only read a certain number of them, until you learn the basic ideas that have been around forever. After that there is no point to continue to read self-help books, you should just habituate the main concepts you already learned into your life.

Yes, it's the Law of Attraction. Actually not a new idea at all, just being heavily marketed via Oprah and other purveyors of pop psychology. Last week's "Newsweek" had a whole spread on it.
