I feel like that all the time. I think I care a lot more for people than they'll ever care for me.

I feel like this all the time. It seems like it especially happens at work. I try SOO hard to do a wonderful job and there are others that seem to do the bare minimum to get by and that really bothers me. I often wonder well why should I be trying so hard if these other people don't do this that and the other. I also often feel like I get taken advantage of and this is something I'm trying to put a stop to. :)

I feel exactly the same way. I'm a person that is very caring and I don't think others care for me as much as I do for them, just like you said.

All the time!! I always put myself out there for people and help in any way I can...it really pisses me off though when people try to take advantage of my generosity!! (I had a girl at work that asked if I would buy her lunch. I gave her the last $5 I had on me because I thought she really needed it (I needed it to put gas in my truck until payday!) but she turned around flashing a wad of bills. When I asked her why she asked me for money if she had her own, she said she expected me to buy lunch because her other partner always did!)

used ot, till I moved to ruralville and found it hard to meet people.
Anyway, my mother used to think this, and let me tell you, she's the biggest recluse and the LAST person I wouldthink of as a giving citizen.
But, family-wise, she was the only one holding it half together.
So, it's easy to feel this way, even if you're actually very selfish and only talk about yourself all fo the time liek she (and now I) does. Ironic LOL

Yes, I am the mother of three. Also, my mother-in-law (who has been ill) lives with us. I often feel like I'm always giving and doing for others and no is there for me.

I'm sorry you feel that way. The world seems to be full of GIVERS and TAKERS.

Oh goodness yes! That is one of my BIGGEST flaws. I give too much. I never expect anything in return but sometimes it would be nice to hear a simple "thank you". It kind of shows me who is truly my friends & those who are only there just to be there. It is dissapointing at times...

You should ask yourself if you enjoy giving to these other people. If you do then it shouldn't matter. Giving to someone isn't about what you get in return. The sense of satisfation you receive should be all you need.

I feel that way a lot so I think I'll take a couple points for answering this question.

Being giving isn't necessarily a bad thing. It is when you give too much that it becomes a problem.

By the way, I do feel like that a lot...

I am the same. I am a giver. I think it is better to give than to receive. But I have found in the past that your kindness comes back to you.
