The bleeding is light and not enough to soak up a pad and I have no cramps but I'm still concerned about the prolonged bleeding.

this is a common side effect of the depo shot, some people bleed for weeks, some don't at all, and others are irregular. i'm afraid you'll have to switch bc again to get rid of this.

YES. I got the depo shot and throughout the whole three months I was on it I had spotting. It was annoying and I didn't feel sexy at all. Not to mention, I gained weight on the depo shot. I am on the pill now, but I hate it too. just to take it at the same time every day messes me up, but at least there's not bleeding like the depo shot!

Your doctor should have forewarned you that being on depo can cause you to have your period for up to 3 months after your first shot. Then you wont have it all as long as you keep getting the shot. Be careful, Depo is dangerous! It can cause you to be infertile if used for long periods of time.

This is so normal, when i got the shot i was on for 3 straight months. Light also. You are not in any damger and dont need to go to the hospital. I am suprised they didnt tell you that was one of the side affects.

If you are actually taking Depo Prevra that shot in yer thigh--get off that now!!. speaking from experience of that shot and all I did was continuously bleed and it almost made me insane. Please try another birth control.

if you have had your period for that long you are probably hemorrhaging and need to go to the hospital NOW.

also, i have had a bad experience with depo. I loved it because it got rid of my period. but it made me gain 50lbs in two years, and caused a benign tumor in my breast.
