Sansa e250r from the company sandisk is really good. There are lots of special features like radio, voice recorder, video player, and rhapsody channells. There are different versions like 2 gb, 4 gb, 6 gb, etc. It should cost like $125 - $175 or around that price.

Creative Zen V Plus
Archos Gmini XS
iPod Nano
I've heard good things about some of the Samsung mp3 players, but I can't vouch for them myself.

There are two options. If you want something that only holds music, and stores 6-8 gb, a iPod Nano is the best option.

If you want a mp3 player that holds both videos and songs, and ipod video is your best option, but it hold 30bg. This is a good alternaive- it is the Sansa Rhapsody. It is small, compact, and has a touch wheel that lights up
