Hello Trucker,
I too am an ex happy trucker, and drove my big Scania all over Europe as well as on what seems like every inch of every street and motorway in the UK, but I am medically retired now, and get the blues sometimes, and I have a great way to get over the blues.I am 62, and quite an accomplished musician, in my lounge here at home, I have a very complex Yamaha Keyboard, and at night I can set it up to play a full mantovani orchestral set of tunes with all the right sheet music racked up in front of me, then it's on with the earphones, up with the volume, and play away until my heart is contented, then just relax and reflect on what I have just done, and if I find fault with it, I just go and do it all again, because to me being accomplished at music playing also means, to always strive for perfection. I can record what I play and play it back through my Sony stereo system, and listen attentively to what I have recorded, and there I get the satisfaction, that I sought in the first place. Then I am happy, and completely cheered again. Some say I really ought to get out more, but I need my walking stick for jolly jaunts like that. I can still drive my car, but 44 tonners are in my past now, but I can still see them going by near where I live, and believe me I KNOW how happy those truckers are at their steering wheels, I was one of them for 40 years, and never regretted a single day of my life on the roads of this country and of European countries either.......Happy trails my friend.... Tony M

I`ve had quite a few bad days over the last year but my year old son seems to be able to make me smile whenever I`m feeling down, just that little smile of his or watching him trying to take his first steps seems to make everything better.

Oh and my husband telling me he loves me, I`m a simple girl!!!

I usually cheer me up by treating myself big.
Either eating rather gorgeous dishes that I can't afford normally, or buying thing(s) which I usually can't or don't buy.

It really makes me feel better and special.
