Ooooh pick me, pick me....
Why do we hate emo and freaks?! I love it.
First: You all look exactly alike, yet you run around proclaiming what an individual you are writing your moodie, depressing poetry and cutting yourself to get attention - WEAK!
Second: Whichever one of you dumb-schitts decided it was a good idea to steal your kid sister's jeans and wear them half down your *** so the world can watch you attempt to walk or skate wherever it is you're goin' is a gigantic moron - those of you who copied Mr. Original and followed his trend are even bigger morons.
Third: Life sucks for everyone. Just because you die your hair black, listen to depressing crap, and write lame poems doesn't mean that you are the only person in the world who could possibly feel the way you do. Truth is - we all have bad days, we all went through a period in our life where we felt life was out to get us. Not all of us, however, decided to bring even more misery into our lives by surrounding ourselves with depressing crap and wearing clothing that would guarantee that everyone else in the world pick on us.
Quite honestly, there are people who are forced by the rules of their employers to wear shirts and ties everyday that establish themselves as individuals way more than you do.
Want to prove to the world what an individual are? Dig deep inside yourself and create something beautiful, write something beautiful, throw out some seriously positive energy and see what you get back in return. The more positive you are, the more positive your life will be.
Your life sucks because you dwell on how much it sucks. The more you dwell on it sucking, the more it is going to suck. The more negativity you put into the universe. The more you're going to get back.
There's NOTHING unique about dressing like every other half-wit emo kid and whining about why people hate you. Want to be unique? Show the world how incredibly awesome you are and truly create your very own style. Not the same crappy wannabe look that you and your buddies all bought at the wannabe punk stores in the mall.
Like the song says... spending mommy's money on overpriced wannabe punk crap at Hot Topic IS NOT PUNK ROCK.
I will say that I wish my lawn was EMO so it would cut itself.
Now go change out your lil sister's jeans that are 14 sizes too damn small for you and get a job while you still know everything.

Well, at least someone else here is having the same question that I do... I don't cosider myself emo, I don't do all of the stuff that emo kids to, and I have long blackish/brown hair (that's my natural color, it's not dyed). But I get labeled emo all the time, because I wear Converse, I'm pretty quiet in school, and I listen to My Chemical Romance. All of the preps at my school think I'm a freak, and some of the older preps make fun of me to my face. It really gets annoying because it seems like I can't even do anything without it being labeled emo... People have a problem with people that are different with them. They don't like it that we don't like most mainstream music and shop at Hot Topic. They falsely accuse us of having some problems, and some kids do, but just because people are labeled emo does not mean that there's anything wrong with them, it just means that they don't really like mainstream stuff...

I think people are just scared of those kinds of things. They don't understand why you dress/act they way you do and perhaps they're a little jealous that you aren't afraid to express who you are. Think of it this way....if aliens were to come to earth you would be scared of them...just because they looked differently. They could be the nicest beings you've ever met but they don't look the same and so it's frightening. I know in this case with emo's and skaters and goths, etc. it isn't that severe, or it shouldn't be. The people that hate you, probably have little or no maturity. Just be happy to know that you are a bigger person than they are and you're heart is twice the size of theirs.

I don't hate freaks, but I do hate emos... How are you different? All you emos dress the same. Stop feeling sorry for yourselves. Maybe we'll learn to like you when the majority of the emo population aren't whiney little fags looking for attention by cutting themselves, and taking the subject of suicide as if it's not a serious situation.
***Please note: I said the MAJORITY, so don't tell me "Not all emos are cutters", etc.

I find it so entertaining that people are all different in exactly the same way.
You rebel because you don't want to be the same and yet you seek others with similar mindsets. If you truly were different you wouldn't put on pounds of extra makeup or listen to music to fit in with your alternative group. You truly wouldn't care what people thought of you. Instead you care so much that you do outrageous things so you can control what it is people think.
At least this way they notice you, right?

I don't know...I used to dress emo and I got sick of it because everyone was so fake. But where I live, emo is a HUGE trend. In fact, if you aren't emo, you are considered totally uncool and not with "the scene"
Everyone in my school has the emo hair, the emo clothes, they talk like emos...its like a uniform. Its pathetic. I've never seen so many robots trying to act and look the same way.

First of all, you're not different. Have you not noticed that every emo kid looks the same or at least close? I see an emo kid, they are wearing black or neon, with Converse, Vans, or flats, choppy hair, YAWN YAWN YAWN. Stop thinking you are special because you shop at Hot Topic. They make fun of you because they think you are whiny and cry all the time because you are so depressed, to put it frankly. They also think the guys are gay because they wear tight pants and eyeliner. So there's your answer.
By the way, I don't have too much of a problem with them, so don't let me answer fool you. I am often labelled one myself.

sweetie lots of my friends are 'emo's' and you all look the god damned same. there's nothing wrong with you style but it is not unique and wonderful and your lying to yourself if you think it is. next time your with your mates look and see how many people are wearing the same colour scheme.
if you think people hate you because of the way you dress that's their problem your under no obligations to confirm to their standards. i used to be an emo until i opted for being myself instead. I'm much happier GENUINELY unique and my friends don't begrudge my style and i don't begrudge theirs.
the only time people become boring as wallpaper iS if the conform to what other people want them to be, peers, society or even the media. be yourself hun and if that is emo then go for it, if it's not, try to be honest wit yourself.
good luck

I don't even know what an Emo is. If it helps to answer, your question sounds very arrogant. If you treat people like boring wall paper, it's pretty unlikely that they'll be very nice to you.

I had never heard the word or term Emo until yesterday. This is what I learned. They wear hair in front of their eyes. They cry alot. They cut them selves. Extra points for suicide atempts. Yes this is a stupid way to live and that is why people hate you. Just because you think you are different does not mean that it is good. It is probably the dumbest fad I have ever heard of in my life.
