Could Someone explain to me what a run and gun basketball team ala Phx Suns should consist of position by position, like the skills and size and abilities of each position here an example of what i think

PG- 5'11-6'3 tall, amazing speed, great passing, especially on the fast break, at least a decent 3 pt shooter, well conditioned great ballhandler

SG- 6'2- 6'6 tall, freat speed, great scorer, great 3 pt shooter, at least decent a ball handler

SF- 6'-6'8 tall, above average speed, average 3 pt shooter, should be a great dunker with amazin leaping ability to go up and get alley oops and what not

PF-6'8-6'10 tall- average speed, must be versatile, a kevin garnett, boris diaw, darius miles type who can play the 3 and 4 spots

C- 6'9-6'11, must be small enough to keep up with his teamates but still must me able to pull down at least 10 boards a game for the run and gun system to be successful, (Mike D'Antoni, Hope ur reading this)

I think if u look back in time in the 1992 Olympics, the US team consisting with all-stars is the best example of a run and gun team (Better than Suns if I may say).

Basically run and gun means whenever your team have the ball, all players (especially SG, SF and PF) will run at three directions towards the opposite basket and of couse the one with the bball will try to pass to them for a score before the other team got back to defense. So you are in a fast break position all the time. Some time because your team is smaller, u will give up points but as soon as the opposite team score, you run!

TO ME IT'S ALL ABOUT TEAM CHEMISTRY WHEN 5 PLAYS AS 1 THIS IS BETTER THAN SCORING 100 POINTS, 50 REBOUNDS, ETC. WHEN ALL HAVE AT LEAST 10 POINTS A GAME IMAGINE HOW MANY POINTS IS THAT? 120 AND YOU WOULD NEED A LEADER A VETERAN AT A GAME THE CLUTCH MAN, AND A COACH WHO ENCOURAGES THE TEAM, AND DYNAMIC PLAYS, IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT SKILL OR 1 PLAYER. THIS IS WHAT I WAS TAUGHT AND WHAT I BELIVE IN

every last one of your players are missing an important skill....DEFENSE! good defense leads to fast break points. If you want a real run and gun team, you need a team that can handle things defensively....stealing...blocking shots and also creating difficult shots that lead to rebounds. your power fwd should be able to grab as many boards as your center...your PG should have above avg court vision and awareness. most of all they need to have great chemistry. plenty of teams have all of those components, but without chemistry.... no reaction.
