I personally am under the impression, based on what I have heard, the Microsoft Zune does not pass the iPod enough (if at all) to justify buying one. If however you were to get a Zune, you would indeed use a service called URGE integrated in the most recent updates of Windows Media Player. However, the songs you would buy in URGE are not any less expensive than those you would find in iTunes. iTunes already has a solid basis as a source of legal music downloads, so I ultimately recommend holding on to your nano, or buying a recent iPod model if necessary.

P.S. The songs inside your iTunes library would not be transferable to the Zune media player if you were to buy one.

you should get an ipod video. it holds much more plus video. It is $250. But, if you tell the apple website that you are a college student, regardless if you are or not, just tell them you are in college. They just ask for the zip code of the college and the college name, they ask no further questions. You can get songs from http://www.limewire.com where you can download songs and videos for free. The ipod video 30 gb. the one i told you about holds up to 7,500 songs. If you want, you can get the ipod video 80gb for a 100 more, and it can hold up to 20,000 songs

You can use the Zune Marketplace to get songs. and its actually "79 Points" but when you buy your points it all evens out to 99 cents. No, you cant use your itunes songs. i tried that but i doesnt work. I use limewire to get my music for it.
