I agree he shouldn't have won the MVP last year and he shouldn't win this year neither. And you're right it should go to the best player, and thats not Steve Nash.

The MVP should not go to the best skilled player but the player that is most valuable to his team. This year I think it is between Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash. They both are very deserving, but I think Dirk will win because Steve Nash has already deservingly won the past two years. I think Steve Nash, though, is more valuable to the Suns than Dirk is to the Mavericks. Even though the Suns have a great supporting cast in Marion and Amare, Nash puts it all together. For some reason the Suns seem to fall apart every time Nash is not in the lineup. This year they lost three games in a row right before the All-Star Break with Nash absent with injury. To people who say that he does not play defense, that is not true. First of all try putting yourself in the position of a short and white NBA player trying to guard much younger and agile players. To be honest I think that has to play a part in it. Also, the Suns lead the league in charges taken and Steve Nash leads his team. If you can't block or overpower your opponent on the defensive end, take the charge, its just as effective, maybe even more. Nash also leads the league in assists, has the second best 3 point percentage, has an 88% free throw percentage, and is in the top 12 field goal percentage, which is entirely made up of big men. Steve Nash is one of the most amazing players in NBA history with his incredible court vision and leadership abilities. There is no reason to say that he should not have won 2 straight MVP's or reason that he shouldn't get it this year as his stats have only increased since his first season with Phoenix. The only thing stopping him now is his best friend and former teammate, Dirk Nowitzki.

i feel you, but look at it this way...an MVP should be the player, without whom, his team would not be nearly as good. the writers who vote usually cut the list down to say your team has to at least make it out of the 1st round in the playoffs. that being said would lead me to vote for Dirk Nowitski. Nash has done an awesome job in Phoenix, but he ain't exactly playing with a bunch of 3rd graders. He's got plenty of help. So does Dirk, but look at the level he's leading Dallas to this year. Why isn't anyone considering him? Nash has been called MVP as early as December, and for what? He already won last year when he didn't deserve it. Jordan played at an incredible level for his entire career...so why didn't he win like 6 MVP's? it's because there are other players doing their thing too. Last year it should have went to either LeBron or Kobe. If it was simply the best player, Kobe would have ran away with the award last year.

well he is the most valuable to the team because he turned that team around and they are really good now being good at basketball isnt just about scoring and nash can score really well but he makes his teammates bettter and that makes him more valuable than other players think about it would you want a player that gives his teammates really good shots and averages almost 12 assists a game and hits 53% of his shots or a player that that shoots 30 shots a game and hits 45% thats good but that usually wont cut it and in his last two games he has shot 21-50 thats 42% and just look at the records and look at the suns record before nash went there so nash is the mvp means most valuable player and he is right now

pretend That equipment became an inflated Stats builder. Nash deserved a million MVP no longer 2 and he became large those years, yet you cant argue a guy that had to everyday 35 factors a activity in 05-06 for his team to make the playoffs, no longer the most precious. Suns has an particularly reliable team those years and LAkers sucked and Kobe nonetheless carried them to the playoffs in a confusing Western convention

I don't like Nash. Wade is injured, but he is still a very good player. Miami wouldn't have gotten anywhere without him.
