My dad is in poor health and asked me to find and download legal documents like DNR papers, living will, wills, power of attorney, and guardianship papers for my younger brother.

Check out a site like legalzoom or contact a paralegal-they'll do the work for a fraction of what an attorney would charge you.

If you're over 18, the guardianship of your brother may not be a problem-- unless the mother objects or contests it. If you are under 18, you will have to get an attorney to discuss your options.

Good luck-- but make sure this stuff gets done!!!!

Go to www.nolopress.com. It's usually the best. If your brother is over 12, he has to nominate his legal guardian. I use that site all the time, and the books are readily available in any major bookstore so you can read about what you are doing. I'm an attorney, and I find it pretty accurate, although I've had differences of opinion with the writers. What I do like is that it puts everything in plain English, so you don't need a law degree to figure out what they are saying. (Lawyers tend to be long winded.)

Not sure about online, but you can get them at any office store like Office Depot or Office Max.

Check with your local officials to find out if any of it needs to be on file in the proper court system before your dad passes away. It varies from state to state.
