First of all, wishing for the "good old days" is kind of....tricking yourself....because the only thing different from those "good old days" and now is that NOW, the media actually talks about things. Yes, they probably focus too much on the bad and not enough on the good, but at least we're hearing SOME of the truth, even if it IS biased (which is why I get Fox News AND CNN! *grin*).

But here's some hope: there ARE some of us "younguns" (I'm 25) that wish for a working school system, the ability to let our kids play outside without having to watch them, and to JUST ONCE go to a Mommy Meeting without hearing the latest episode (which I didn't watch *gasp*) of Desperate Housewives. My husband and I try to fill our daughter's life with all of the good that we can. She doesn't watch much TV, and what she DOES is limited. We don't take anything harder than Tylenol unless we have been checked and scripted antibiotics by the doctor. We wish for a day where money DOESN'T matter and where people do things for the betterment of society.

There are others who feel this way, but unfortunately many people think they're nut jobs, so they hide themselves away in communities and such. But I feel your pain, and I hope that one day we can learn to see past differences, stop putting significance on what people HAVE, and learn to love one another for who we ARE, not what we believe.
