Here's the sitch: I am contemplating running for Student Body President. However, it somehow feels like no one wants to 1) be a running mate with me, and 2) follow me in anything I do, and constantly belittle me at all costs. I was Student Body President at the 2-year college I was at, and had a very successful administration there, until I got a headstrong and conceited Vice President during my second term, who conspired the rest of the Student Government against me and got me kicked out. Now at the University level, I feel the need to get back into the leadership role and finish out what I started, but I don't feel that I can without the proper backing from the rest of the Student Government. I need some major help and assistance from you guys. Please help!

Sounds to me that you are in trouble. It sounds to me that you do not get along well with folks in the political arena. You believed that your VP conspired against you in community college and now you can't get anyone to run with you. Have you ever thought that the problem might begin with the person you see in the mirror?

You need to take a look at your platform and see if you need to make some compromises so that you can get someone to join you on the ticket. Otherwise I don't think you have a future in politics.

I think you first need to ask yourself where is it you are trying to lead? Perhaps that's why no one wants to follow. Perhaps don't run for president right now. It sounds like you are in a new situation and perhaps need to learn the lay of the land before you jump in. You also need to ask yourself what is really is you want to accomplish. I don't know what you mean by "finish what you started". I think you've got to think beyond yourself and see the big picture.

To win an election, just make up a fake problem to solve and claim you are working on it (examples):

-Global warming
-An unpopular war that you voted for but now are changing your vote
-Universal healthcare

Let's elect hillary and have another clinton make a joke out of the whitehouse.

Yeah, if you have no supporters it might be hard to get elected.
