How Old? Acomputer more than a few years old may require some of the hardware to be upgraded also. Look at the requirements of XP and see if your computer meets those. If it does, XP is really easy to install. Insert the disk and go from there. Is pretty self explanatory. Good luck.

If it is under 1GHz don't bother.

As oldbear said it depends on how old that computer is ,it may need hardware upgrades.You need at least 256 megs of ram and at least a 1gig processor and a 10 gig hard drive.If you give more info on the specs of that computer and how old it is we could help you more.
