most have no problems, there are a few ferrets that do not get along well with others, but that is a behavior thing, not an age.
Just a note: your older ferret will probably shake the young one, and then drag him around by the scruff of it's neck. Basically, it is a ferret way of saying- this is MINE not yours.
I would suggest putting the new one in a temp cage and just have supervised play time until you know they get along ok.

Ferrets are VERY social creatures...with humans AND other ferrets. I feel so relieved when I hear people say they are getting a ferret they own a friend because ferrets really do better in groups.
To ease your mind...I have 4 (lord help me. haha) ferrets right now. Only one of them is a female and they ALL get along famously. Don't worry...it is very uncommon for ferrets not to get along. Just make sure everybody has everything they need. You may want to have an extra water bottle, food dish, and hammock so that you know there will be no squabbling. Also...I hope you have a nice 4 level cage? If you do not have one I would seriously think about investing/saving for one. They are worth it and they will appreciate the extra room for those times you have to lock them up.
Good luck and take care of those fuzzers!

Well, it depends on their attitude. They can both get along and they could hate each other. It usually doesn't make a difference what gender the two are. I had 1 female and 2 males in the same cage and they got along great. For the first few weeks I would watch them while in and out of the cage in case one of them acts aggressive. Other wise it should be no problem. Make sure you have a big enough cage for the both of them too, that can be another problem.

I think they should be able to get along as long as they are both "fixed." My friend has 3 ferrets, 2 males and one female, and they all get along fine. Just make sure they have a big enough cage for them to be able to be alone if they want to. (and they are all different ages too. she got them over the course of about 4 years.)

Since he hasn't been around other ferrets since he was young, I would be careful. He should adapt fine but there's always the chance that he won't accept it.
Make sure you quarantine the new ferret before introducing them!
An excellent book that every ferret owner should have is "Ferrets for Dummies" by Kim Schilling.

ive in basic terms those days began looking into ferrets yet i'm able to sum up a number of what i found out it doesnt rely male or lady as long as there neuterd/spayed which they might desire to be in any case to grant them a extra effectual existence(till your breeding). They attempt in pairs because of the fact they want better half deliver so as long as they get alongside with that categorical ferret issues will artwork out... its unlike rats and maximum different bushy animals the place they adult males tend to combat each and all of the time. additionally i dont understand the place you getting this ferret from(i advise a preserve) yet while they permit you definetly deliver your ferret alongside and permit him play around slightly a % a clean roomie of his very own.

Yes, but they have to be introduced to each other gradually, and the younger the better. Also they must be neutered otherwise they will fight for dominance (oh and they will smell when they get older).
They should get on - I've not read anywhere that you should never put two males together, but the advice is always to get them neutered.

they can get along but the question is will they get along. i had a ferret and his cage mate died and it took me 3 months to get another one of my ferrets to move in with him. it took time and patience but now they are the best of buddies and inseparable. NOTICE THE KEY WORD THERE "PATIENCE" you should supervise them until they get along.
