Yes. I have never had lessons on any instrument but I can play any instrument I pick up within a hour or so of playing with it.
I play keys, guitar, mandolin, banjo, sax, steel guitar, recorder, trumpet, and violin.
I have played professionally when I was younger.
My son inherited this same ability.

I dont' believe so. Here is my reasoning. When Growing up. My mom was not a musician or did not play any instrument and still doesn't and my dad doesn't really play an instrument. Though he did teach me the very basics to the piano which I ended up surpassing him because I was taught in lesson's. The only reason why he knew how to play was because someone else taught him. He did not genetically inherit music. He was taught by other's once he knew (when I was a kid year's ago) that I wanted to play the piano.)

So I hope this example answer's your quesiton. I do not believe that people are genetically connected to music. Some people can be. But a lot of people are not. They have to be taught by other's to learn if they want to that badly!

Yes.
I was adopted, but I have an ability to play the piano.
I play it well, classical jazz, whatever.
I think everyone has a genetically born ability.
It's not all of us who get to realise it.

You tell me! I can play a guitar with every part of my body. xD

There are some who would say that your musical tastes carry over from your past lives. Moonlight Sonata sounds great with distortion, don't you agree?

Absolutely! It's not something you can just learn if you don't have an innate talent for it. Some people who love music and singing really can't sing a lick, but they don't seem to recognize that fact!
