The United States deserves to hold another Summer Olympics within the next few cycles. Hopefully it will come true.Speaking as a Beijing hopeful, I think it's important to note that it's important to understand how beneficial it is for athletes to be citizens of the host country. Qualifying doesn't even apply to the host country.
I think that countries like Brazil, Russia, Canada, Korea, and Egypt could be excellent hosts. As far as international event-to-country standings go... you can't really depend on World Championships hosts to be eliminated because every sport's world championships are not held in a single, consecutive, venue and/or date.

Realistically for 2016 I would say either:
New York, Toronto or Buenos Aires
No Europe - 2012
No Asia - 2008
Africa aren't really ready and have WC 2010
No Brazil - WC 2014
