Makeup = bit of a stretch. But you could buy a couple of different glosses and mix them together for your own colour for example.
But for earrings, it's a piece of cake. Go into any craft store, and you can buy earrings called "hooks" or "Fishing hooks", and jump rings (little tiny rings to hook chains on), as well as a whole range of beads to string together. You can also buy chandelier earring pieces already made that you can hook jump rings on, and hang beads on.
It really depends on what kind of earrings you want to make.

Making your own earrings and jewelry is really easy. A good source would be a beading magazine or to go to Michaels Craft Store. Michaels has great beads and free instructions (on these little slips of paper by some of their beads) on how to make them. If you go there and can't find the instructions, you can always a sales person for help.

making earrings is fairly easy but dont try to make ur own cosmetics it could be dangerous.
