Well, if everyone downloads songs illegally and without paying, the people who made that music aren't recieving any money for it, like they would if you bought their cds. It also affects everyone who worked on the cd, from the artist to the record company. Personally, if I like a band, I'll support them by purchasing their cd, even though I may download some of their music first to get a better feel for them.

The bottom line is money but not really. While illegal downloads are robbing the artists and other of their rightful earnings the real problem is they will stop making music. After all, would you continue to work if you were not being compensated. If you are going to starve to death there is no reason to work your fool head off in the process.

Hello Best Musician,
I am a music director, let it be. You can download by any mode but remember it should be for learning purpose. Do not use such software for musical production or in live concerts. Another thing, become perfect in such softwares first without telling anyone. Afterwards when you want to use that commercially buy it.

Most importantly they lose revenue. When making their music they have to pay for studio time, extra musicians etc. It's not free for them to produce their music. So the way they get repaid is in selling their cd's at stores.

It is in fact the label/agent that loses money because most big musicians and singers get paid most of their money when they sign.
