is emo bad or good? just to get things clear, i'll listen to so-called "emo" music if i like it. i hate labels anyways. but why do people say emo is a bad thing? like if it's a rock band that's "emo," isn't it good if they express themselves? should ALL good music be...artful and emotional? like i hear all the time.."ewww...that's so emo..." I dont get it!

Nothing is wrong with "emo" music. It stands for emotional. And "emo" is just a genre of music, just like pop, country, hip hop, metal, and so on.
Personally, I love that genre of music. And I also hate labels. Some how, people have made the type of music a label to people.
Be open-minded and try it out. You might like it.

i can tell you that people say that im emo but look at me im perfectly fine if not a little wierd but there is noting wrong with emos even though they are different. Your right its a matter of self expression. If i want to were all black who gives a ****. If some one had a pink house and a pink every thing else so who cares. Its self expressin. Sides most peopler just jealous

Emo is neither good or bad. It's just a matter of expressing yourself in a way immature people can't take. If someone calls the type of music you listen to emo, then don't listen to them. People stereo-type them as people who wear all black and cut themselves. That's not true. Tell them to grow up.

I think emo stands for emotional and these are the people who like sit in the dark and cut them selves are just kinda of down in the dumps all the time and if anything I think they need help not to be made fun of

I think it came from emotive hardcore music. But now since it is a huge trend (especially in fashion), people are making it into something it's not and people are really stupid about it with all the stereotypes and stuff. People can dress however they want and listen to whatever they want and people should just leave other people alone.

I don't think the music is bad at all.I actually love Emo music! But,it's bad when a person is actually Emo and hurts themselves.
But there's absolutely nothing wrong with Emo music in my opinion.

Emo is a lame way for kids who don't get enough attention from mommy and daddy to express themselves. As far as style goes, it's like goth meets metrosexual... PATHETIC!
