Define 'best' and define 'invest.' If by best you mean the best return on your money with the least risk, I agree with the recommendation for Exxon. If by invest you mean something short term, like less than three years, you might not want a stock at all, since the market can go up and down. You might just want a CD with a guaranteed return for the time you need. But if you want something longer-term, I do like Exxon.

If you want help in learning how to invest, you might try joining an investment club and just putting a few dollars a month with other people. You'll learn a lot and be able to pick your own investments. Try www.better-investing.org.

If you need to come here for investment advice, its clear you have no idea what you are doing. I would suggest using a REPUTABLE broker, from a well known company. Otherwise, you can lose alot of money in a very very short time.

I'm going to give you a bunch and let you decide on which ones to pick. Here are a bunch of tickers: RAIL, ASPV, IDCC, PTEN, PD, GW, HW, NVR, CG, PDC, FCX, EGY, ARLP, TGE, XJT, TBV, VLO, OVTI, BLDR.
Any portfolio of those should do pretty well. If you want to read more about ASPV, there is a free report (ad supported, PDF format) at http://www.valuestockreports.com/aspv.htm
Also, if you have any questions feel free to email me at research@valuestockreports.com
Hope this helps.
