I think you mean you want to format. Rebooting consists of turning the pc off and on. Formatting is celaning the whole hard drive and reinstalling the operating system from scratch. What version of windows are you running. I'm Guessing you're running windows XP or 2000. Either way you will do it the same way.

First off you need to locate your CDs that came with your pc. Not knowing who made your system makes it a little hard as well. Companies like HP install on your hard drive a restore partition where you do not use any cds, but you hit F10 to restore.

PLEASE NOTE!!! When you do this you will lose ALL DATA. back up anything important. You don't have to worry about e-mail based on sites like yahoo or MSN because those services keep the e-mail on their servers.

If you have discs with your system, look for either disk 1 or one that says operating system. Put it in your cd drive and restart. Watch the screen it should say "press any key to boot from CD..." Do just that (press a key) Wait for it to load. Follow the steps for new install.

Good luck!

Reboot just means restart. Every time you turn off your computer and turn it back on again, you reboot it. To reboot/restart your computer, go to the Start menu and select "Turn of Computer" or "Shut Down" if you have an older version of Windows. Rebooting certainly helped old computers get "new and fresh" but if you have Windows XP, rebooting won't do anything to help.

Reboot means to shut down your computer and then start it up again. On Windows XP, you click on the start button, then click on "turn off computer. You will get a little box which says log off. turn off or restart. If your computer id on at the time, click on "restart." If your computer is turned off, you eill be rebotting when you start it up again. Ellie

Depending on your make & Model of computer there are different ways to do so.

When you first start your computer you night see something like "Press F1 for BIOS F10 for RECOVERY)

RECOVERY is what you're wanting.

Also, check your Owner's Manual for procedure.
