I definately think he will and heres why. He has lots of hight which is huge whgen you are a reciever. Today when teams get in the redzone you see a lot of fade routes thrown ot their tallest wideout. Calvin Johnson is put on this earth to cathc the fade route in the endzone. Also hes not only tall but hes a pretty large guy. Hes very durrable and can be relied on in and out of every game. Possession wide recievers like him can catch lots of balls over the middle and not be afraid of gettiing a big hit layed on them. Thats why he will easily be a hall of famer and possibly right up there with Jerry Rice.

He wasn't very consistent in college, but he was flashy. That's the easy way to become a high draft pick. It's probably far more likely that he isn't even the best WR in this draft class. There's got to be somebody who is being ignored because he's productive but not flashy or just not as well known. There's always a Maurice Jones-Drew whenever there's a Reggie Bush and there's always a Curtis Martin when there's a Ki-Jana Carter. In 1996, Keyshawn Johnson was the 1st pick, but Marvin Harrison and Terrell Owens are the dominant WRs of that class.

For every Carson Palmer in the top 5 picks, there's an Eli Manning and a David Carr.

Calvin Johnson has the potential to be great, but his performances suggest that he's more likely to be simply good.

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, there Tex!
He's only played college football and has yet to set foot on a Pro Field and catch a Pro Ball from a Pro QB, much less been driven to the turf by a Pro Safety. Let's give him a year or two before putting him on a pedistal. There have been far greater talents, that flopped right out of the gate.

You never know what youre going to get especially when it comes to receivers. JUst look at some of the more higher ranked wide receivers in past draft. Guys like David Terrell, Charles Rogers, Mike Williams, Troy Williamson, Desmond Howard, Peter Warrick. Receivers I think are harder than any other position to figure out i think when it come to going from college to pro, aside from maybe QB.

That is really hard to answer without ever seeing him play a game, let alone even one season, in the NFL. He might have the talent, but there is always that threat of career ending injuries. One thing is for sure - he's no Jerry Rice.

Don't get me wrong, he had a great year at Georgia Tech and at 6'5" 240-Lbs. he posses a strong physical body and ran a 4.0 something 40-Yrad Dash. But, without having seen him play a minute of professional football in the NFL, I can't judge him against Jerry Rice, Lynn Swan, etc.

Possibly, but he will go to a team w/ a bad QB, and he won't have anyone to throw him the ball. He is great though, he is as phsycall as T.O. and as fast as RAndy Moss. A deadly combonation.
