Ask her? Buy her some pads. Talk to her about periods. Communication. She may be embarrassed but it sounds like you are, too. Get over that and play mom. Your daughter needs you right now to help her get through whatever it is.

Is this happening often? Or in a 28-day cycle like a period?
Young girls usually start their periods around this time. And, the color of the menses is usually dark to begin with.
Get her some pads and tell her about the situation. She will be okay. Perhaps she doesn't know enough about it. Give her a calendar and start keeping track and then when the cycle is clear, you will both know what is going on.
Good luck.

you are a kid yourself-I can tell that by reading the toher questions you have posted. If this is happeneing to you then it sounds like your period is going to start soon, or it already has. Tell your mom whats happening and she'll be able to help you. Its nothing to be worried or embarrassed about, we all go through it! Also, dont be disgusted by it, its not nice but its normal and your mum wont think you're disgusting xx

You are the mom, take charge. If she says this, have her put on new underwear, and look at the stuff she just changed out of; that will answer the question as to whether or not she has started.

Tell her about pads and if you havent already, have a talk with her about her period and pads. Tell her to wear a pad/pantiliner in her underwear and if you find out she has brown spots or some other color spots on her underwear then yep she started her period.

Sounds like beginnings of her getting her period. Get her some panty liners till it comes full force and keep a journal of when this happens, then you can tell if shes on a cycle or not.

when you first are getting ready to start you may have a weird discharge for a while, sporadically. just to be safe,I'd contact her doctor and ask, they may want to see her and take a sample...better safe than sorry. also get her some panty liners so she isn't all gross with messes in her underwear. good luck

well...my little sister was 9 when she got her period...if she is your daughter you shouldnt be at all uncomfortable looking at her panties, as a grown woman you should know the difference between a dookie stain and a period stain.
at the age of 10 she should know about periods....

yep. When I started my period ( at age 11), it wasn't as the period that we all know and love (<--lots of sarcasm). It was brown spotting. I was totally grossed out too and embarrassed because I thought it was.... you know.... but then my mom found my dirty undies and explained to me that it was my first period. And she was correct.
