The testies are connected up inside the body.'
When the Doctor says turn your head and cough, you turn your head so you are not coughing in the Doctors face and when you cough the testies are retracted into the body a little bit.
If you had a hernia they would not retract.
You would have this done until you don't have testies anymore.

they are not actually holding the testicles...they have their finger in the external inguinal canal. this is the canal that the testicles come down in when the scrotum forms. the canal is supposed to close. if it doesn't, you can expect to get a hernia. the reason that you cough is to increase intra-abdominal pressure...if you have the potential for a hernia, when you cough, you can feel the abdominal contents press down on your finger...the reason that you turn your head is so you don't cough onto the examiner...

before they ask you to cough they could also use the exam to make certain you've 2 testicles. Or that both one among them have dropped into position. One testicle usually hangs below the different so that you'll experience the scrotum to ensure each little thing is contained in the right position.

You may laugh but girls are prone to get it too. They're checking to see if you have a hernia. If you got one and it goes untreated, you'll develop a very serious intestinal problem.
