Making a cursor isn't a big deal, its just a small bit mapped graphic. Check out Axialis.com as they have an Icon editor and a Cursor editor. I have used earlier versions of these programsand they are easy to learn and use. The new versions have a 30day free trial....

Use Search for Files (on your Start menu) and I think you will find Imagedit.exe, which is a rather primitive little program Microsoft distributed for the creation of cursors, icons, and other bitmap images. Use it to create cursors. (Some sample cursors are on your system at c:\windows\cursors\) If you don't find imagedit.exe on your system, then I suspect you'd find it as a download at www.microsoft.com or by doing a google search. I use mine so often (for hiding in websites and for snazzing up my desktop) that I carefully protect it whenever I install a new system...fun lil' booger.

That would be a pretty advanced lesson because you will need to write atleast a basic operating system from scratch. Now if you want to write a console application that's another story.

I think you could manage this little task all by yourself,
with the right program. Try this random link ( to other
links ), and see how you get on..

HTH.
