That same kind of thing happened to me when my ex-girlfriend asked me to attend her older brother's wedding and reception. I ended up going but, in your situation, If it were me, I'd pretend I had something else to do and "kind-of" let him know. Then, if you actually show up casually late, that will show that you cared enough to come see the show. Plan on leaving early, as that will show that you are there to see the show and the show only. If you like the music and the atmosphere, by-all-means go see the show. Just because an ex is somewhere doesn't mean you can't be at the same place and have a great time!!!
