Definately sounds like your first period. Also, you shouldn't be nervous or embaressed about confronting your mom about the news - it's nothing to be ashamed of, all of us girls have gone through it! She should be happy for you, not over react.

Good Luck!

ya, its kind of scary, but you'll get through it. If it is your period, generally you will see a little bit of pinkish to red color blood. But if your body is slow going, then by the time the blood gets to the panties, it has had time to age, therefore it turns brown in color and becomes thicker/sticky.
Are you having any other symptoms, such as cramping or anything? Eventually, you'll have to let your mother know. try not to be too embarassed, theres no need for her to over react, every woman gets a period, so she has been through it aslo. I know I don't know your mom, but it is important for a mom to know these things about your health and well being. Just wait a little while longer and see if you bleed a little. If you don't end up bleeding at all, it might be a good idea to let your mom know anyways. That way you can both go shopping and get prepared because it sounds like your period is on its way! Good Luck

It could be.
I didn't tell my mom either, and she found out when doing my washing.
I know it's hard, but you need to tell her. Or, if you have a decent allowance, go to a shop and buy some sanitary towels, you are going to need them :)

Good luck :)
(You might want to stock up on some pain killers for future months too, these things can hurt!)

Well, usually you'll know you had a period if some blood is in the toilet, on your underwear, or on tissue paper when you wipe. You should tell your mom as soon as possible. She's gonna find out if she does your laundry anyway. Just relax and tell her. Remember, she has one too. It just means you're growing up.

Yes, I think it was your first period. They usually start dark and sticky.

Tell your mom so she can buy you some pads. Don't be embarrassed. Just matter of factly, "Hey Mom. Could you buy me some pads? I just started." That should do the trick. Don't worry. Be calm and grown up. Good luck.

sounds like it, but to be sure wait for a while. i am 14 and i started when i was 12. it was brownish like the first blood that came,so it its possible. you should wear a pantiliner until you figure it out, because you dont want to ruin you undies.
