i heard today that terry wogan gets paid a fortune for presenting children in need, when as far as i know the whole idea is that the celebrities give their time for free, i think this is a disgrace, has anyone else heard about this?

answered a question similar to this one, but still feel as strongly that its is a disgarce to stand up and broadcast to us all the people in this world that are a lot worse off than many, and we try and do our best to help them, when the man himself takes that amount of money. I say he should pay back anymonies he has received and any other celebrity that has done so. Hyprocite he his. Am shocked too cause I thought he was sound, and he is also letting down his country. Come on Terry pay it back so it can be put to better use and that amount of money could help so many both here and abroad.

They all get paid, the orchestra gets paid and so do the staff and crew, which in my opinion is fair play. Wogan has always been paid to do it, it's only now that his secret is out. They will find another way to pay him, he'll get thousands of pounds worth of vouchers and freebies instead. On the other hand I'd rather it be him than anyone else fronting the show.

This is the first time I heard of this, but to be honest I'm not shocked most of them r greedy & only do good things for publicity not all of them but most, it's really sad Terry Wogan should give that money to Charity

This was in the papers yesterday, he is reportedly getting £9000 to do it?
I was surprised to read this. I give a % of my royalties from my children's stories and audio tapes (the details are on my bookstore at http://www.lulu.com/lindacorby) and I wonder if
A: The funds to pay him come out of what is collected or if
B: The BBC pay it?
If A is the answer then I would feel cheated as would many others collecting for the fund.

Yes!!! Seemingly the Beeb have said that they pay him Not the Charity. Terry Wogan says he's gladly do it for nothing!!!

I read that he's paid £1400 per hour for presenting the show. I think this is appalling and hope that he'll be shamed into doing it for free or even better not presenting the show at all and making way for someone new who won't do it for their own gains.

I dont know about that but i do know that Terry Wogan has given huge amounts to charity so i wouldnt diss him that much

Oh My God i really didnt know that, i bet you though that he isnt the only on i bet the other presenters and partisipents get a bit aswell. I think thats wrong all the other people put in the effort and he gets money out of it....
