Since I've been on Yahoo Answers the past few months I am amazed at the following....

* How many people believe having casual sex is a GOOD thing.
* How many people don't believe in God and even worse are extremely against religion.
* How many people can not spell or punctuate.
* How many people believe in horroscopes and/or taro cards (I even saw one girl ask for a "love spell" and people gave her serious answers on how to cast a spell).

I hope Yahoo Answers isn't reflective of society, it's really scary. Your thoughts?

LOL - that is funny that I'm complaining about mis-spellings and I mis-spelled "horoscope" and "tarot cards". It was accidental actually because I can't say I've ever used those words before and I did the spell-check but I guess it only checks the first line of the question, not the details.

And no, it's not diversity that scares me, it's that I grew up in a Christian environment and never realized how many non-Christians there really are out there and how many people live what I consider to be an immoral life.

Excellent observations. Y!A is not only reflective of society, but a "snapshot" if you will of the world because so many from other countries also use this forum. The answers (and questions) are quite revealing and interesting. What does the Bible tell us? That in the last days people will be lovers of themselves, haters of God, haters of the Truth... they will not put up with sound doctrine but gather around themselves false teachers who will tell them what their itching ears want to hear... etc. One need not look very far on Y!A to see that the Bible is true.

Dear girl you have been witness to a fairly accurate depiction of the real world in which you live.

Not all people remain virgins til marriage, not everyone is a Christian let alone has any belief in god (such as myself).

The spelling is an indicator of the dumbing down of America, the speed with which people type without using a spell checker and of course the fact that English is not the first language of all humans with internet access.

Please note that you have misspelled the words horoscope and tarot, which are ancient practices older than most modern religions and are no less believable than an almighty old man reigning over us all.

So let me finish with what I started with - welcome to the real world little girl. Do not be afraid to learn.

PS
What you consider to be immoral is not necessarily so to those of us who aren't Christian or religious in any manner. Who are you tell me my life lived is worth less than your life lived simply because I do not follow the doctrine you have been immersed in? If a person is given only one piece of information then they cannot make an informed judgement. I was raised in a Christian household and yet I was allowed to read whatever I chose even if it was conflicting with the church's teaching. I will state that from the very beginning of my memory of church and the bible, I was never convinced of it's "holyness". There were too many holes that even a 9 year old could drive a Mac Truck through them!

Actually, it's "cannot", "Horoscopes" and "Tarot". Also, I would not have used a comma in the sentence "I hope Yahoo..." unless I followed "society, AS it's".

However, what you are seeing on here is the rich tapestry of life where, fortunately some might say, free will and ignorance are not crimes.

I thought it was better to try to understand than judge? I guess not. But by the way calm the hell down. I think that mabey a little maturity would help to understand that this world would be pretty boring if everybody thought like this.

Some might call it a microcosm. If you see it, call it Revelation 101. The best is not yet to come.

I agree with you. When I first started coming on this site, I couldn't believe the people that didn't believe in God, but you can use this as your method of trying to reach these lost souls. Good luck.

...there is nothing new under the sun...that is why you must stay in communication with God's Word and fellowship with each other; daily Bible reading, fasting, and prayer in your personal daily life.God's Word gives you courage and fearlessness. (We serve THE LORD with fear and trembling). When we pray-we should pray for ourselves and pray for others; we should pray about all kinds of things...If you are a Christian, you are in the world BUT NOT OF THE WORLD!

I had to laugh at your intentional(?) misspelling of horoscopes and tarot cards.

I too find Y!A scary at times; but it's the fundy christians who give me the eeps.

Many atheists are communists. Communists are atheist, which explains why atheists are trying to kill Christianity in America. They're trying to take over.
