Statistics show that more babies die when they are delieverd during the night. Same with plane crashes.
obviously, pilots, doctors, and anyone else for that matter are more tired at night; hence more possibility for human error. and that's even if they sleep during the day, since the biological clock is not wired for people to stay up during the night.

so would u feel safe flying on a plane at night with a potentially sleepy pilot?

and for the ladies, lol, of course we can't stop deliveries (babies come when they please), but how do you feel about what i said and what do you think about it?

Recent articles have called attention to pilot fatigue... which can occur at any time. Pilots often fly on only four hours sleep. Yes, regulations say they should have a minimum of six hours... but that doesn't count deplaning, dining, getting into a hotel, etc... so, really, it is not just a night time issue. A pilot flying at 6:00 AM may have just come off a flight 4-5 hours earlier. One co pilot recalled a time the plane went into a nose dive ( even on auto pilot) because he and the pilot had nodded off for a few minutes. I haven't read anything about night time babies... but hey, I was born at 3:00 AM. Now I have an excuse for these recent mood swings!!!

It's probably got some truth to it.
I'd hate to have any night shift workers taking care of me in the daytime, because of the sleep/wake cycle disturbance.
As for babies, I have 6 kids, and 3 came in the daylight hours, 3 in the night.
Good luck.

Being a mother myself, and having delivered under less than ideal conditions, I have to remember that in some countries women have to give birth alone out in a field or worse! I am always grateful (even if they are tired) for the assistance of someone who knows what to expect or look out for in the case of bringing a new life into the world.

i think it's the mixing of shifts that lead to accidents and all that. like working by night a week and by day the next. my mother works like that and she finds it hard to reaccommodate to a new sleeping program every week.
but i guess that if you're used to being active by night then it's no problem. i know taxi drivers that only work by night and never had an accident.
i am a night person myself...i function better at night time and i imagine I'm not the only one

yes, I would feel safe.
What they are doing is their job. if they were so inefficient, would they be working now? which airline/hospital would enjoy paying their own trouble?
the biological clock. well.
how about a blind person?

I can't have kids & don't fly much. I just don't worry about it.
