Somebody online is trying to tell me about a dream that she supposedly had during an extended fainting spell. Is it even possible to have REM when you faint, or is fainting like being uder anesthesia where you don't have any dreams?

Also, I'm not asking about hallucinations or other weird things that people sometimes see before they faint. I am asking if it is possible to have actual deams.

Only if the person has narcolepsy. B/c the normal person it take 90-120mins to achieve REM sleep after sleep onset. But the person could have fainted b/c of nacrolepsy. Any way they need to see a doctor.

Narcolepsy, often connected with sleep paralysis and vivid, frightening dreams at sleep onset, is characterized by irresistible daytime sleep attacks and collapsing at the onset of strong emotions (known as cataplexy) while remaining conscious (and so should not be confused with fainting).
