The Hillsborough disaster was a deadly human crush that occurred on April 15, 1989, at Hillsborough, a football stadium in Sheffield, England resulting in the death of 96 people (all fans of Liverpool Football Club).

The inquiry into the disaster, the Taylor Report, named the cause as failure of police control, and resulted in the conversion of football stadia in the United Kingdom to all-seater and the removal of barriers at the front of stands.

The Hillsborough Disaster, actually, began to unfold, at 1506hrs. (when the match, itself, was called to a HALT), on the afternoon of 15 APRIL, 1989! A total of NINETY SIX fans, - aged, between TEN, and SIXTY-SEVEN, years old, - were CRUSHED TO DEATH! The stopping of the game, might not have happened quite so QUICKLY, though, had it NOT been for the pleas, to DO SO, that came from the Liverpool GOALKEEPER, on that day, - BRUCE GROBELAAR, - who HEARD the screams, of TERROR, from behind HIS goal! This COULD have resulted in the DEATHS of even MORE people!
