Joey Porter being cut from Pittsburgh and signing with Miami
Thomas Jones being traded from Chicago to N.Y. Jets
Randy McMichael being cut from Miami (not yet signed)
Ahman Green being traded to Houston from Green Bay
Jeff Garcia not being resigned to Philadelphia

I understand, most of these moves HAD to be made whether it be salary cap or team chemistry. But which will hurt their former team the most?

Miami losing McMichael or Pittsburgh losing Porter...two very idiotic moves...But considering that they're both rather defensive teams...the Steelers losing Porter will probably hurt them the most, considering Miami just signed him.

Joey Porter is the biggest move up there. Jones is actually a pretty good move for the Bears seeing as they move up really far into the 2nd round, and it opens up the starting job for Benson. McMichael is pretty much a non-factor. Green Bay is going to need a running back, because Favre can't carry the load by himself. Jeff Garcia is way overrated here in the city, and everywhere in the US. He only won games because Westbrook and the recievers played well at the end, and because the defense turned it on down the stretch. Garcia didnt have a good completion percentage, and wasnt even that good. Feeley showed he was a lot better in the game against the Falcons. The real big loss for the Eagles will be Donte Stallworth, because they will once again have a problem with depth at reciever, and obviously management doesnt remember the problems they had when they traded for Stallworth in the first place. I hope they are planning to do something in this draft that is very deep at WR, or not resigning Stallworth will be the worst move any team made during the offseason, because it will take a contender, and pretty much drop them out of contention.

Green was signed as a Free Agent not a trade.

Thats my pick, Ahman Green will be missed in Green Bay, and if im not mistaken they traded Sam Gado to Houston last year as well. They HAVE to draft a RB this year, because they dont want another old guy like Jamal Lewis. Green Bay needs to get young, and RB and QB are the places they should start.

Benson is not going to be the every down back, Adrian Peterson was signed to a 5 year contract extention last year. He is a good RB that has gone unoticed. Benson is now #1 in the 1-2 punch...

The two that will hurt in bad weather games (Norse division).
1.)Ahman Green being traded to Houston from Green Bay, who do they have for a RB?
2.)Thomas Jones being traded from Chicago to N.Y. Jets
3.) Randy McMichael might hurt a little (Daunte needs a pass catching and blocking TE)

Garcia will not be missed in Philly, and depending on what happens to the Buc's might be back.
Joey's production went down in Pitt, interesting that he signed with Miami though.

Edit:
My bad I ment that Green signed with Houston.

I think the Bears will miss Jones, but no one else will be missed. Porter was described by Whisenhunt as "hitting a wall" last year when asked why the Cards weren't pursuing him....i.e. he's in decline. McWifebeater is not only a scumbag, he can't catch. Ahman Green is old as hell and has never quite stopped with the fumbling. Garcia is also old and didn't want to stay with the Eagles anyhow...

It has to be Thomas Jones being traded from Chicago. Cedric Benson was unreliable last year, so he'll need to seriously improve over the offseason, to help an already poor Chicago Bears offense. I dont know why you have the Jeff Garcia on there as a possible hurt for the team. In case you dont know, they already have a QB named Donovan McNabb, who was considered an MVP candidate last season until he got injured.

Jeff Garcia not being resigned. That one kind of baffled me. McNabb can't stay healthy for an entire season and I have serious doubts that AJ Feeley or Koy Detmer would be able to come into a situation like Garcia did last year and lead the team to the playoffs.

i think it was definitely the bears trade of thomas jones...benson has not yet proved that he is an effective pass protector or receiver out of the backfield and if he is to be their every-down guy they will need him to improve on both those areas drastically...as for the others, porter, mcmichael, and green had declines in production, and garcia and the organization just didn't see eye to eye and they went with a. j. feeley as the backup

Thomas Jones being traded. That makes no sense to me whatsoever. I don't think the Bears make the playoffs this year just for that move. What were the Bears thinking ?!? It's like the time Jim McMahon was dropped on his shoulder at Green Bay in '86 only it's your their own guy doing the slamming.
