I found some nice knee high inexpensive boots at Payless Shoes. They came in black and brown and are a faux suede. They are big enough for my calves and I am a plus size. They have an inside zip and also come in wide widths.

Think about buying leather boots - those can be taken to a professional and stretched. You don't want boots too big everywhere, because you want it to fit well in the ankle too.

Also think about getting boots with a light elastic stretch section at the top of the boot (so that it can stretch) without losing its shape.

I saw some in a walmart in Ware, Ma on sale for $5.00!! The leg of the boot was a stretchy material. I have muscular calves too, I was a gymnist so I know the difficulty!
