Yes you can. A regulation was passed that you can returned make-up even if you tried it. The stores don't re-sell it, they just destroy it.

Walgreens and stores like that don't usually let you return open and used make-up, like loreal. But as stated already you could call or go in and ask if it would be ok. Explain to them that it did not work well with your skin and you will not be able to use it and would like your money back or at least store credit.

And I also suggest going to places where you can try the makeup before you buy it, like Mac, or Mary kay lets you do a full make over for no cost, they both have policies that you can return it with no problem at all.

You could call and ask, but generally makeup once opened and used can't be returned. It could be if you were using Mary Kay though. You should try it.

I don't think you can return used/open make-up. One time, my friend bought an expensive mascara and opened it like 5 minutes after purchasing it. She realised it was brown, not black, but they said she couldn't return it as she'd opened it.. She sold it to her Aunt.

Would you buy makeup knowing that it was opened?? You could sell it on ebay, and let them know what your situation is.
