On friday night I was dancing in my living room, it wasn't very strenuous, kind of like the dancing you do when you're at prom or have the radio on. All of a sudden it felt like someone threw a lead ball at my leg and I started limping. My leg has hurt since then and I've been limping. At first I thought it was a Charlie Horse but I've had those before and I've never had this much pain or walked in this odd shape. The pain has died down since Friday but I can't seem to straighten it out. last night when I tried it felt like my muscle was going to be ripped out. I don't have time to see a doctor at this moment, anyone have a suggestion of what it might be?

The pain is at the calf muscle area.

It's not a cramp. I've had those before to and they don't hurt as much as this. Plus, If I bend my knee or my foot I don't feel pain. It's when I straighten it out is when the pain starts.

It's not DVT. I'm 21 and a student. I'm running from class to class all day.

I hope I'm wrong but it sounds like DVT to me.

Thrombophlebitis is:

An obstructing blood clot has formed, causing the surrounding vein to become inflamed (phlebitis). If the blood clot formed in a superficial vein near the surface of the skin, it is called superficial vein thrombosis. If the blood clot formed in a deeper vein, it is called deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Deep vein thrombosis is a major risk factor for pulmonary embolism because a clot may break off (embolize), travel through the return circulation, pass through the right side of the heart and into the lungs, where it causes an obstruction.

I would make time to see a Doctor on this one.

GOOD LUCK!

I'm leaning towards cramp also. A Deep Vein Thrombosis or DVT affects people that sit in the same position for hours without getting up and moving. Take a Truck Driver for instance he sits in his seat driving for hours. A blood clot or Thrombis forms in his leg from lack of movement and when he gets up it dislodges and goes to his lungs and then he dies. So Let's hope it's just a muscle cramp.

it sounds like its just a muscle cramp. it happens a lot when dancing, especially in the calf. also it is very common to have them while sleeping when u raise ur leg. this is usually because of not properly stretching out the muscle or a lack of potassium.
