Curtis is a dependable number 3 reciever, sometimes he is a number 2. Recievers for the rams are somewhat like runningbacks for the broncos. The rams are good at finding guys that give them depth at reciever whom they can replace like AZ Hakim, Dane Looker, Ricky Proehl, or Shaun Mcdonald. The rams know that Curtis is dependable but they also know that they can find someone else that can do what he could.

Considering they replaced him with Drew Bennet, they made a very good move. Bennet is a 2 reciever on pretty much any team, and a 1 on some, like Tennessee. Bennet will put up 1000 yards and 6 TDs for the Rams easy.

apparently they feel he will cost more money than his value, and obviously they are gonna let him go since they just signed drew bennett for a lot of money...curtis will be a #2 receiver for someone somewhere and be pretty effective in doing so
