How do you do a backflip off your horse in Zelda: Twilight Princess?

Question

I've seen my gf do it twice on accident, now I want to know how to do it at will. I've tried everything I can think of, has anybody else done it?

I have the Wii version BTW.

You CAN do it, because I saw her do it twice, but she said she didn't know how, she just kept mashing buttons.

I had already tried the Z-target + A, and it didn't work.

Z target, hold down and press A. I think, i dont remember but I did beat that game.

z target, pull the stick backwards, and quickly press a.
another cool thing Link can do, (when you're not on the horse) when you beat certain enemies (green monsters, skulltula, lizard men, those red plants, etc.) if you quickly put away your sword, Link will do it in a cool way.
