Well first things first try smaller events like roller rinks or maybe county or city fairs and festivals. Maybe try to get yourselves hear on the radio a bit f you have any original songs. Wether it's big radio or small online or fm lot's of stations will play young people as well. (we are one of em) Get yourself on myspace too. Sign up under artist not regular myspace and upload your songs, info, and dates when your playing and such. You can start a fan base that way and of course fans will always fight to get you to come play near them. You never know someone might own a place that needs a live band or have a parent that does or even know someone who needs a live band. The possabilities are endless. Hope that helps ya a little. If you have some originals email our station owner i'm sure he'd play em for ya. stormyradio@yahoo.com either way good luck sounds like you got a good start going especially with asking help with questions like that.

I think it's awesome that you're rolling with this.
You are right, however, it could be very hard to get some gigs at your age.
First thing.....is there any kind of talent show, dance, or anything similar planned at your school? If so, that is a PERFECT opportunity to get your band out there.
Also, I really like the idea that someone mentioned of having a party and inviting people over to hear you play.
Another suggestion.....find places where kids your age hang out, and approach the management of those places to see if you can play. Don't expect to get paid.....at least not the first time....in fact, I encourage you to tell them that you'll play the first time for free. And I would definitely have an adult with you when you approach these places....just so they know you are serious.
Also, it may sound corny, but go to places like Chuck-E-Cheese's, where smaller kids are, and ask them if you can play one night. Again, have an adult with you so that they know you are serious. Any kind of exposure you can get will help you.
Check out any local fairs, festivals, etc, and contact the organizers. Again, having an adult contact them will make them take you more seriously.
Lastly, try to find family-friendly coffee houses, etc, that may be interested in you, or that have "open-mic" nights. It would be very hard for you to get a gig in a bar, but something like a coffee house is much more possible.
Good luck!

me and my friends are starting a band too. you could try playing in like your basement or something and invite a few people over. If they like it you could put on shows there. Maybe set up a stage in your yard.

You could also set up a MySpace page so people can hear you.
