Use an eye cream. Absolutely do not try and use any other sort of cream, including cocoa butter, on that area of your face. The skin around your eyes is incredibly delicate, which means you need very specific, gentle products on that area. Use an anti-shadow eye cream, like the Nivea Visage one. Dove has a nice one; it has light reflecting particles to hide the dark circles until they go away.
If you use an eye cream for a while (3 months at least) and it doesn't help, try Skin Doctor's Eye Circle. It gets rid of the dark circles, but has a few more chemicals in it, so you should try a normal eye cream first!
Also, drink plenty of water, get plenty of sleep, and moisturise your skin. Don't load foundation over the dark circles because it makes them worse. Your dry eyes will absorb it all up and leave it powdery and not hiding anything.
Good luck!

I have this problem. It could be do to your caffeine intake. Caffeine can cause the dark circles. Also, lack of water could be the case too. It could just be genetic.

I use concealer if it gets too bad. I'm sure that some of the creams over the counter can help too.

I know this isn't very informative, but I hope I was of some assistance.

Have a good day!

There are products, but be extremely careful. Some of these are heavy creams, etc. and will give you milia, which is what I've got. Doctor said it was due to me trying to rid the dark circles. Best to drink your 8 glasses of water, get enough sleep, exercise and keep stress to a minimum. If it's that bad, go to a dermatologist for "real" fixes, not a quick fix like me that is now worse that the dark circles I had before.
