My husband and I also have three kids (blended family). But we do have all the facilities for them, fenced yard, scratching post, large cages for the bunny, etc. We are pet lovers. They are so cute. My family thinks I am nuts to have so many.

I was wondering the same thing. I have a husband and 2 little girls, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 1 bird, 5 fish tanks, and 1 lizard. I think if we can take care of them all then its ok. My kids love it and my husband doesn't mind cause I take care of them all. So your fine. So what if we turn our houses into small zoos? LOL

We have 12 cats, 2 dogs, close to 50 fish & a teenager. I think as long as you take very good care of your pets & do not let them be a pain to others outside your household, then no one else has any business even having an opinion on the matter. My family all think I'm nuts, too. I just don't care, though. My pets have a room for all their "stuff" (litterboxes, food bowls, toys, beds, etc.) & a fenced yard for the dogs. They get regular baths & veterinary care (even the fish) & are treated better than a lot of people's children. As long as you & DH enjoy your family the way it is, ignore everyone else.

I think that is definately not too many pets. We have some family friends that have 3 kids, 2 snakes, 3 lizards, 3 ferrets, 2 cats, a dog, and 3 salt water fish tanks. They seem to manage pretty well and if you really enjoy them, then you can never have too many pets.

No, I don't think its too many if you're an animal lover and know how to take care of your pets. I have 5 dogs, one cat and a bird...no problem.

There was a time I had 3 dogs and 5 cats so I would say no. And who cares if someone doesn't like. It's what you enjoy that counts.

No!
As long as you are taking care of both he children and the family, then it is fine.
I am a HUGE animal lover as well.
I actually want a pet pig.
But I can't have one.
See, pigs are smelly cause the mud.
But if I had a pet pig, I'd give it baths and stuff.

But I love other animals, too.
I'm a big animal person.
Also a vegetarian.

If you are able to care for them and love them, there is no problem whatsoever. Your family shouldn't think you're nuts. We have 3 rabbits and a cat.

As long as you have enough time to care for them and love them I'm sure you're fine. I currently have 2 dogs,3 hermit crabs,2 Guinea pigs, 1 hamster, and 1 fish.

you can afford to take them all to the vets right? And your house is clean right? If you answered yes to those questions then you don't have to many. I just lost a dog so I am down to 4 now. 1 cat that we hardly ever see except feeding time. though right now It is to cold and I won't let her out so she is pee od. And rabbit won't leave her alone.
